2D Cartoons
2D Cartoons
No childhood memory is complete without those Saturday morning cartoons. Who does not know Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd? Or maybe you prefer Tom and Jerry? No? How about Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote? All of us have laughed over their antics until our stomachs ached. There is no doubt; these cartoons made our childhood days fun and exciting.
Such animations fall under 2d cartoons. It is the short term for two-dimensional cartoons. Two-dimensional cartoons are not limited to the ones aired in television. Newspapers and magazines also have 2d cartoons. It’s just that instead of cartoons, they are more popularly known as comic strips.
Creating 2d cartoons is not that hard. As long as the person, animal, or thing you are drawing is not a stick figure, it can be regarded as a 2d cartoon. Avoid flat drawings. Give life to the cartoon. Include facial expressions and body gestures.
One trick in making 2d cartoons is by drawing two outlines, and then combining them. For example, you want to draw SpongeBob SquarePants. Make a sketch of SpongeBob showing the front view first then the left view. Incorporate these two in one drawing and there you have it, a two-dimensional SpongeBob SquarePants. It will even be easier if you are using an animation program because the computer will do the integration for you.
